Christmas Tree Ribbon Tip
It is the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas. The holiday full of lights, eats, and an abundance of cheery décor. Our home is decorated from wall to wall and I couldn’t be happier.
This year I decided to change up a few of our trees. I want to share a quick and easy tip for a new ribbon method I used on our office tree. Of course each tree (yes we have one in each room) is themed/colored for the space it is in. Our office has whites, gold, grays and teal! So, naturally that is how the tree is decorated.
I started with a simple burlap from Hobby Lobby to make a bow for the top of the tree. I used a different ribbon for the wrap through look. It is a wired ribbon that is inches wide. You can do this method with any width ribbon, but the wider just fills in more space.
Instead of taking the roll of ribbon and wrapping around long lengths, pulling and tugging and having to redo often (as you can see I have experience) we will be cutting it into sections. So, grab some scissors! No measuring really needed here but each of my cuts where about 3 feet. You just want it long enough to get in about 2-3 loops per sections. Cut your first section and start from the top, right under the tree topper. There is no correct direction to go. Just attach one end of the ribbon to a branch and then loop it and tuck into the next branch (my loops are about 5-6in each). Continue to do so around the tree, weaving and tucking in and out. As you go on you will see that it appears to be one long length of ribbon woven throughout the tree. The inconsistent pattern really gives it a fun and full look!
A home is what you make it. Make yours cozy with this simple decorating tip. Post a picture if you try it out and let us see how beautiful your Christmas Tree is.
